We called West hill because we had a very bad flood. Another company put up a fence and cut out our drainage system. Bill came to look at our situation and, thank god, booked us in as soon as he could. These men worked so very hard to help us and our situation. Very caring and helpful. I will always keep the number on file. I’m happy to know that there are still professional companies out there. Thank you!

I hired West Hill Landscaping to design and build a Large patio for my backyard and it really turned out great. The workers were very hardworking and dedicated, and they were efficient as well, getting the job done quickly and beautifully. The manager, Mike had excellent ideas and knew just the right touches to make the area visually pleasing. I found their prices to be very fair and their work to be top quality. I recommend them highly.

I contacted Bill to sort out some drainage issues with the back yard of a home recently purchased. He came back with a very reasonable quote and was able to start work one week later. He did warn me that the work scope could change, and everything was dependent on the amount of clay below the top soil. Unfortunately for me, the clay beneath the lawn was too dense and the french drain was unable to drain at a sufficient rate for the amount of water entering the system. Bill was quick to update on the required changes and did his best to keep costs down while incorporating a sump pump system and additional drainage to correct for mistakes that the homebuilder made. I’m very happy with the final product: I’ve had zero issues with drainage, the grass and grading look excellent, and the overall finish on West-Hill’s work was perfect.

Mike, Carl, and Bill did an amazing job on our backyard patio. The work looks fantastic, and we trust that this was done properly. Bill recommended the pavers and the colour based on what we described, and when everything arrived, it was even nicer than what we imagined. Mike took the time to explain every step of the way, and if a challenge ever presented itself, he’d make recommendations to ensure the best job. The team worked long hours to ensure that the project was completed in a reasonable time, left the site clean every night when going home, and ensured that our neighbors yard (which they needed to cut through to reach our yard) had minimal damage to the grass. Not only did they give us peace of mind for completing the project properly, they were personable and responsive. I contracted West-Hill Landscaping in Bowmanville to excavate and trance a 35 foot trench at the side of my house. This side drain was to clear standing water which was pooling after rain storms , leaving the side yard marshy entering my side basement wall. Bill and his team arrived at 8:00 a.m. and worked hard for 10 straight hours manually digging the ditch, filling it with gravel and then topsoil, and then regrading and seeding. I was very impressed by how hard they worked, how they cleaned up the site and the driveway following the project completion, and their willingness to help me to save and to relocate some of the soil to other areas. Since the trench has been completed, there have only been three days in which it has rained. So far, so good. The water appears to be draining properly and not pooling. Bill has called on both occasions to ensure that the drainage installed is working as intended. I am pleased to date. However, the real test of the success of the new side yard drainage system will be over the long term and also during the fall and winter months when there is heavy and severe rainfall. Given that I have a five-year warranty with West- Hill Landscaping for the side-yard drainage, Bill guaranteed that they will come back if the problem presents itself again. I trust that he will keep his word and follow through if warranted.

We had Bill and his crew first come in May to fix the drainage problem in our backyard. However a problem arose and we needed to call Bill again. He came quickly to view the yard and concluded that the initial drainage system was not doing the job and additional work was required. The crew returned in a timely manner to do the work. With each rainfall the standing water in our backyard was turning into a small pond! I called Bill and he came the same afternoon to access the situation and give a quote. Within a couple of days Bill and his crew came to put in a drainage system. Trench had to be dug by hand. The felllas worked quickly and hard . They wre were very polite and professional and did an amazing job! We have had several heavy rainfalls these past 2 weeks and NO more standing water!!
